How It Works!

 :

You may be taking this   for several reasons.
  • You are taking this course voluntarily to receive a 3-point credit on your Idaho Driver's License record. The Idaho Transportation Department Division of Motor Vehicles allows you to take this course for a 3-point credit once every three (3) years.
  • You may need to take it to satisfy a court order.
  • Students who satisfactorily complete this course may now also get insurance premium reductions. Individuals should contact their insurance companies to advise as to whether or not they offer this discount for their customers.
  • Your employer requires you to attend a Defensive Driving Course.

To receive credit for the course and to receive your Certificate of Completion to satisfy court or DMV requirements you must take the final exam in-person at one of our test areas. When arriving at the test area, you must have your driver's license or DMV ID card, and   cash or money order.

To satisfy a defensive driving course requirement, you must complete all of the online sessions of the Defensive Driving School online and then pass the final exam in-person at a test area.

The "Test Areas" link is in our menu section above.
